Spend a Snowy Saturday with your Personal Stylist

As February comes in with a roar, I sit and write my first blog in the warmth of my home. The Pats and Tampa are both out of the playoffs, but the anticipation of Super Bowl LVI remains…

I am surrounded by a few stray Christmas candles and twinkling lights that offer a feeling of optimism, luminosity, and hope. The air outside is frigid with our first official 2022 Blizzard bearing down.

“I’m feeling like 22” Taylor Swift

It has been quite a year, and I am not sorry to see 2021 go. It was a milestone birthday year for me in October.

I was fortunate to be able to spend it in California.

With 3 of my 5 children living on the west coast, it is not often that we are able to all be together.

The week was full of fun, laughter, adventure, a couple of “alpha” disagreements and much love.

"Get busy living or get busy dying” Stephen King

We hiked the trail to The Getty and took in the incredible beauty that surrounds that area of Los Angeles. It’s amazing how beautiful and clean everything looks when you are at an elevation of 3000 miles.

My Personal Goals for 2022

As I ponder my goals for this next year, I wonder what the next decade of my life is going to look like. I am committed to expressing my artistic talents this year as well as establishing my new menswear and personal stylist business.

I will dedicate time to paint and to write as I create a balanced and

creative life that is vital to my happiness.

Me Time

Tonight is the first night that I will begin writing my blog that my oldest son has suggested I write.

As a mother of 4 grown men and one daughter, my love for fashion has helped me to connect with them.

I understand how their individual personalities and different styles of dress exemplifies their unique personalities.

The Best Gift Ever

The best Christmas gift that I received this year was a “family cookbook” that my children and 4 nephews and significant others created for the 4 “matriarchs” of the family.

The word matriarch sounds so old but even as I write the word, my heart is full of gratitude and love at the thought of this precious gift and how the traditions we have instilled will continue to go on for generations to come.

"Where did all my brothers and sisters go” Jon Petteruti

Where did the time go? I think many people ask themselves this question when they hit a monumental milestone.

As I celebrated my daughter’s 30th birthday on New Years Eve, it seems like

yesterday that I was celebrating my own 30th birthday in Springfield Va.

In order to write about life, first you must live it” Ernest Hemingway

I have never been bothered by any age. To me, age is just a number and I am not a number person. I am dominated by my right brain and I only use numbers when absolutely necessary.

Sometimes it’s hard to believe how much time has passed since I first came into this world. I reminisce of my mother at my age or at any age, dressed in her “house coats” adorned

“Time Passages” Al Stewart

“It was late in December, the sky turned to snow

All round the day was going down slow

Night like a river beginning to flow

I felt the beat of my mind go

Drifting into time passages

Years go falling in the fading light

Time passages. Buy me a ticket on the last train home tonight”

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough” Mae West

I look in the mirror and see myself as a wise, talented and loving woman composed of wedges of myself and of the 4 female mentors that I have always admired and respected. I see a few lines that I’d rather not see but I am grateful that I can see the lines as distinctly as I can.

I am smarter, calmer, and more grateful than I have ever been and I look forward to the choices that I will make in my next decade of life.
